About loanwolf.ca
loanwolf.ca is a free loan matching and comparison service for Canadians. We are not a lender, and we do not pretend to be one.
What we do
We explain how Canadian borrowing products work, publish the rules and benchmark rates that govern them, and pass your request to a licensed lender or matching partner when you ask us to.
We do not lend money. We do not set interest rates. We do not make credit decisions. We cannot approve you, and no legitimate service can promise that it will.
How we make money
We may earn a commission when you click through to a lender or partner and take up a product. That commission does not change the price you pay, and it does not change what we publish.
Every outbound commercial link on this site is marked as sponsored and carries an affiliate disclosure next to it. If a page is not monetised, nothing changes about the content.
How our content is produced
Pages are written and reviewed by our editorial team rather than attributed to a fabricated author. Where we cite a number — a rate cap, a regulatory limit, a population figure — we cite the publisher, the source and the date, and we date the page.
Where a figure varies by lender, by borrower or by province and we cannot source a single authoritative value, we say so instead of printing a number. We would rather leave a value blank than invent one.
What we do not do
We do not publish customer reviews or ratings, because we do not have a verified body of them and inventing them would mislead you. We do not publish testimonials. We do not display awards we have not received.
We do not give financial, legal, tax or credit advice. Information here is general. Your circumstances are specific.
Who regulates what
Banks and federally regulated financial institutions are supervised by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, and consumer protection for their products sits with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. Provinces license and supervise most other lenders, payday lenders and debt-relief providers, and each province has a consumer protection office.
If you have a problem with a lender, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada publishes the complaint route for federally regulated institutions, and your provincial regulator handles provincially licensed ones.

Frequently asked questions
Is loanwolf.ca a lender or a broker?
Neither. We are a matching and comparison service. We pass your request to a licensed lender or matching partner, which makes its own decision. We are not a broker of record and we do not negotiate on your behalf.
Does using this site cost me anything?
No. Using loanwolf.ca is free. We may be paid a commission by a lender or partner when you click through and take up a product.
Can you guarantee I will be approved?
No. Approval is decided solely by the lender, based on its own criteria. Anyone who guarantees you approval is not being straight with you.
How do I contact you?
Use the contact page. We answer editorial and correction requests, and we will correct sourced errors with a dated note.
